In addition, Njection has released a GPS Enhanced Ad Engine that specifically uses NMobile's unique localization features for displaying area store discounts and coupons for its users to take advantage of. The company says this will assist more traditional "brick and mortar" stores to compete for customers in addition to allowing for a lower entry cost than traditional advertising means.
Companies have the ability to upload the location of stores that they would like to participate and have them geocoded using Microsoft Bing Virtual Earth Mapping Service. After this, companies that have products they would like to create coupons for can create and attach their coupon to participating stores.
Once the coupons are attached to those stores, users can use their iPhone or iPod touch to produce bar codes that can be scanned to take advantage of offers from those companies and products. Companies with store locations that would like to sign up and participate can do so for free. Companies and businesses with coupon offerings can be attached to any participating store and store locations for a fee. The Njection Mobile iPhone update that will include the ad engine will be available July 20.
