Novatel V640 ExpressCard/34 Solution works with MacBook Pros

imageVerizon and Novatel will begin shipping the Novatel V640 on Aug. 10. It's an ExpressCard/34 Solution that works with the MacBook Pro.

It's designed for use with Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess service and enables owners of notebooks with ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54 slots to wirelessly connect to the Internet at broadband speeds via Verizon Wireless’ national high-speed 3G Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network.

Nearly half the size of standard PC Cards, Novatel Wireless’ V640 features plug-n-play so that the ExpressCard can be plugged in or removed at any time. In addition, it has a dual-band diversity design that incorporates an external flip antenna, maximizing data speed performance and allowing for stronger network signal reception.

You can order the Novatel V640 here (as well as other places), where pricing is as follows:

° A V640 with 2 year contract is US$99.99. This is an $80 savings from Verizon
standard pricing.

° A V640 with a 1 year contract is $179.99. This is a $70 savings from Verizon standard pricing.

Verizon has not yet released the pricing for the V640 without service. For those wanting to upgrade an existing contract and not buy new service, pricing isn't yet available and orders are not being taken.

Terra Noctis: Free Dreaming Promises Ple...
