PlumChoice offers extended remote tech support for Macs

PlumChoice's U.S. based certified IT technicians offer consumers support over the phone or Internet seven days a week, 24 hours a day. PlumChoice will remotely take over your computer to diagnosis and repair the problem. Now the company is offering Internet-based support services to Mac products ranging from Leopard and Tiger-based Mac computers to iPods,iPhone and AirPort routers, firewalls and printers. The company previously focused primarily on Windows-based products, as well as consumer products (CE) and devices.

“Adding remote support for Mac products to our comprehensive subscription support service is a natural extension of the services we have been providing for Windows-based products for seven years,” saysPlumChoice founder and CEO Ted Werth.

PlumChoice’s service goes beyond answering frequently asked technical questions to provide full-service, monitored, enterprise-style solutions to technology problems, including equipment set up, training, ongoing support and monitoring, and repair on PCs/Macs, networks, printers, MP3 players, PDAs, digital cameras and more, he says.

PlumChoice has also has expanded its services to provide remote setup and training for smartphones. The company is offering two smartphone setup packages:

° Smartphone QuickStart Basic (US$49.95), providing remote Internet-based installation of computer software required to synch data between the computer and the handheld as well as instruction in the synchronization process. Customers can watch on their computer screens while PlumChoice technicians setup the software and provide step-by-step guidance by phone. The iPhone, Windows CE/Mobile, Treo and other smartphone devices are eligible for support.

Smartphone QuickStart Premium ($59.95), providing the basic setup service plus remote training in the use of the smartphone itself (for select models). In this case, PlumChoice technicians connect remotely to a Windows CE/mobile handheld device and control cursor movement to show users how to perform functions ranging from retrieving email to selecting ringtones, downloading music and surfing the mobile web.
