Review: Marware offers a Gripping case for the iPhone 3G

With it, the sides, top, and bottom of the iPod are protected by a slip-free silicone skin that's relatively rugged and durable despite being soft to the touch. Unlike some iPhone 3G cases, the SportGrip includes a clear protective film to prevent scratches to the smartphone's screen, as well as a microfiber cleaning cloth.

The clear film t doesn't offer the protection a hard plastic protector would. But the think clear film doesn't a reasonable job without adding any cumbersome-ness to the case. It's also more nimbler in letting you use the touch-screen.

Unlike some versions of the SportGrip for other devices, the iPhone 3G version doesn't have the spaced ridges on the sides that make it easy to keep your grip on the device. The case also lets you access the controls and Dock connector. That's convenient since the SportGrip fits so snugly it would be a pain to have to remove the iPhone 3G from the case every time you needed to dock it.

imageThe SportGrip for iPod touch -- available in a variety of colors -- is reasonably priced at US$19.99. However, I do wish the case had the spaced ridges of some of its siblings. A belt clip or a lanyard would have also been nice.
