The black C.E.O. Premiere uses a secure magnetic enclosure, while the vanilla uses Velcro -- I'd go with the black. (BTW, the black C.E.O. Premiere sold anywhere other than on Marware's web site will use Velcro.) The Premiere offers soft protection with a microfiber interior that helps clean the iPhone 3G when it's inserted and removed.
It offers easy access to headphone mini-jack and sleep/wake button and push-through access for convenient removal. The Marware case sports open corners that make it easy to push the iPhone 3G out of the Premiere. Said corners are the ones that offer access to the mini-jack and sleep/wake buttons. Obviously, you can listen to music or take calls with the iPhone 3G’s headset while the smartphone is in the case, but no other controls can be accessed when the case is shut.
The Premiere also comes with a clear protective film and microfiber cleaning cloth. If you don't mind a case in which you have to remove the iPhone 3G to fully use it, this is a solid choice. If you want "always-on" protection (something a clumsy person like me should consider), you'll need another option.
