The shell surrounds your iPod in crystal clear protection, which means it keeps your iPod touch (either the 8GB or 16GB model) safe from scratches while letting its debonair good looks shine through. The case comes with a DLO Surface Shield screen protector -- a positive, considering the touch's spacious (for a handheld) screen. Another plus: the built-in sliding kickstand, which lets you enjoy hands-free video viewing at your desk or on any flat surface.
The transparent VideoShell also offers access to the earphone port, hold switch, as well as the dock connector so you can plug in and sync your iPod touch without removing it from the case. However, I have trouble accessing the controls; I find the openings to be too small.
What's more, it can be a little hard to get the touch out of the case. I'd advise having a quarter handy to pry the case open.
The VideoShell offers solid protection for the touch, while showcasing its good looks. And the price is good. I just wish the folks at DLO hadn't made the openings so inconveniently small.
Macsimum rating: 7 out of 10.
