Safari ends 2006 with 4.24 percent of web browser market

Microsoft's Internet Explorer is still the 800-pound gorilla of the browser arena with 79.75 percent market share. Firefox is number two with 13.67 percent. Safari's in third, followed by Netscape (.79 percent), Opera (.73 percent) and Mozilla (.19 percent). All remaining browsers have less than .04 percent each.

Market Share has a poll in which you can vote on the best web browser. Currently, Firefox leads with 29.52 percent of all votes, followed by Opera with 18.17 percent. With 8.55 percent of the votes, Safari is ahead of Internet Explorer, which has 4.47 percent.
