



And since Jobs is "integral to negotiations with international carriers and supply chain partners," Morgan Stanley Analyst Kathyrn Huberty thinks the CEO is meeting with folks about new products. She also notes that Apple noted a 34 percent rise in R&D spending in the December quarter.
Huberty has raised her forecast on Macs to 2.02 million from 1.99 million. However, she cut her iPod unit forecast to 8.5 million from 10 million, and iPhones to one million from 1.5 million, notes Barron's. Huberty now forecasts calendar 2008 sales of 10.09 million Macs, 41.5 million iPods and 9.3 million iPhones (which would be short of the company’s 10 million unit forecast). Previously, she had been calling for 10.04 million Macs, 50.75 million iPods and 10.5 million iPhones.
