iTunes U is a part of the iTunes Store featuring free lectures, language lessons, audiobooks, and more, that you can enjoy on your iPod, iPhone, Mac or PC. Explore over 75,000 educational audio and video files from top universities, museums and public media organizations from around the world. With iTunes U, there's no end to what or where you can learn. Some of the points made during the Nov. 9 official unveiling of the Tennessee Electronic Learning Center include:
° Technology is a crucial component in reaching students and keeping them engaged during the learning process. It can also be used as an easy gateway to get parents involved with their child’s learning.
° Teachers may access the podcasts and resources to supplement their lesson plan or to use during class time instruction.
° Teachers may also access standards training podcasts, an essential resource as the Department of Education implements the TN Diploma Project, increasing standards and rigor for all students beginning in the 2009-10 school year.
° Resources include material and strategies for students. Currently students can access lessons in language arts and study skills. Math will be added later this month.
°Anyone anytime can log on and utilize the department’s Electronic Learning
Center by going here.
