Retrevo's CES 2011 predictions

We expect to see large crowds gathering around a Honeycomb-based tablet at the Motorola booth. Android tablets will most likely be featured in booths from vendors like LG, Toshiba, Samsung, Acer, Asus, MSI, Dell, Lenovo, and many others while we expect to see Windows Phone 7 (or some other Microsoft mobile OS) running on tablets in the Microsoft booth.

HP and Palm have managed to...

Research group: iPad to have 'lion's share' of...

The Forrester research group ( has Forrester published its revised US consumer tablet forecast, which forecasts US tablet computer sales to more than double this year. And the big winner is expected to be -- you guessed it! -- Apple and the iPad.

Forrester has revised its US consumer tablet forecast for 2010 upward to 10.3 million units, and expects sales to more than double in 2011 to 24.1 million units. Analyst: iPad, Mac sales exceeding expectations

Analyst Chris Whitmore with Deutsche Bank says in a note to investors -- as reported by "AppleInsider' ( -- says that checks over the holidays indicated that Apple saw better-than-expected demand for both the iPad and the Mac. During the holiday period, Deutsche Bank checked in at more than 50 Apple retail and partner stores, and found lines and crowds driving "robust" demand for the iPhone, Whitmore says. The analyst said iPad is tracking ahead of his model, so he's increased sales estimates from six million to 6.5 million for the fourth quarter of calendar 2010. He also sees Apple selling 28 million iPads in 2011, up from his previous estimate of 22 million.

Whitman says the MacBook Air seems to be a big...
