ConceptDraw PRO and ConceptDraw Solution Park get new additions

CS Odessa (www.conceptdraw.com) has announced a new Workflow Diagrams Solution for ConceptDraw PRO v9, the new templates and libraries provide a new set of tools and features for ConceptDraw PRO to allow users to accurately diagram workflow scenarios.

The new Workflow Diagrams solution makes it easy to represent the transferring of data, documents, and tasks during performance of a work process, according to the folks at CS Odessa. A workflow diagram is a specialized type of flowchart.

Apple brings all day battery life to the MacBook Air

Apple has updated the MacBook Air with all day battery life, fourth generation Intel Core processors with faster graphics, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and flash storage that is up to 45% faster than the previous generation.

11-inch models featuring double the storage and 13-inch models start at a new lower price of $1,099. Apple today also introduced completely redesigned AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule base stations featuring 802.11ac Wi-Fi for up to three times faster performance.

Apple today released a developer preview of OS X Mavericks, the 10th major release of the operating system. With more than 200 new features, OS X Mavericks brings Maps and iBooks to the Mac, introduces Finder Tags and Tabs, enhances multi-display support for power users, delivers new core technologies for breakthrough power efficiency and performance, and includes an all new version of Safari.

Apple to provide live video streaming of WWDC keynote

Apple will broadcast its WWDC 2013 keynote address using HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards.

Viewing requires Safari on iOS 4.2 or later on any iPhone, iPad, iPad mini or iPod touch; Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X 10.6 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires a second or third generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. The live webcast will begin at 10 a.m. (Pacific) at www.apple.com.

CoreCode updates SMARTReporter for Mac OS X to version 3.1

CoreCode has released SMARTReporter 3.1 (http://www.corecode.at/), an update to its flagship offering for Mac users.

SMARTReporter is an application that warns of some hard disk failures before they actually happen. Blackmagic Design announces new low price for UltraStudio 4K

Blackmagic Design today announced a lower price on its UltraStudio 4K: US$995. UltraStudio 4K is a Thunderbolt capture and playback solution.

It features 6G-SDI and HDMI 4K video connections so it can work in Ultra HD and 4K video formats. UltraStudio 4K is a single rack unit design with a wide range of rear connectors. The front panel is a machined aluminum design that features an integrated color LCD.

'The Guardian': NSA has direct access to servers of...

The National Security Agency has obtained direct access to the systems of Apple, Google, Facebook, and other US Internet giants, according to "The Guardian" (http://tinyurl.com/m9hw4dv). The newspaper says it has obtained a NSA secret document that verifies this.

The NSA access is part of a previously undisclosed program called PRISM, which allows officials to collect material including search history, the content of emails, file transfers and live chats, the document says. "The Guardian: says it has verified the authenticity of the document, a 41-slide PowerPoint presentation, "which was apparently used to train intelligence operatives on the capabilities of the program."

Mellel 3.2 for Mac OS X adds hyperlink support, more

RedleX (http://www.mellel.com) has released Mellel 3.2, an upgrade to its word processor for Mac OS X (10.5 and higher). The new version introduces hyperlink support, is now offered in a "lite" version, and introduces a host of smaller improvements and a long list of bug fixes.

The new hyperlinking feature allows linking to any file on the disk, making it easy to link to documents, references, and even launch relevant applications from within Mellel, according to the folks at RedleX. Hyperlinks are exported to Word format, RTF, and PDF as live links.

Analog for OS gets eight new filters

Realmac Software has updated Analog (www.realmacsoftware.com/analog/), a photo polishing app with filters and borders, to version 1.3. The upgrade includes eight new filters found in Analog Camera for iPhone, bringing the total number of filters to 35.
