Billings Pro for Mac OS X, iOS revved to version 1.8

Marketcircle has unveiled Billings Pro 1.8 (http://www.marketcircle.com/billingspro), an update to its time billing and invoicing solution for Mac OS X and iOS devices.

It's a multi-user time tracking and invoicing application for for multi-user businesses, with a web interface for workers to track time. Version 1.8 is designed to maximize the capabilities of the iPhone and iPad to create a one-stop app for freelancers and working professionals to track their time, expenses, and mileage and to send invoices and track payments.

Billings Pro uses Marketcircle's Apple Design Award Winning desktop interface from Billings 3, as well as an iPhone application based heavily off of their Billings Touch app. The synchronization technology is derived from Marketcircle's Daylite software.

FabFilter releases FabFilter Pro-Q 2 equalizer plug-in

FabFilter has released FabFilter Pro-Q 2, an update to the Pro-Q equalizer plug-in. It sports new features such as full screen mode, natural phase processing, Aauto gain, spectrum gGrab, Gain-Q interaction, and slope support for all filter types.

For Pro-Q 2, FabFilter has redesigned the internal filter engine from the ground up. It's also boosted by user interface innovations.

FabFilter Pro-Q 2 is now available for US$199, supporting both Mac OS X and Windows in VST and VST 3, Audio Units, AAX, RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats. Bundles with FabFilter Pro-Q 2 and other FabFilter plug-ins are also available at www.fabfilter.com/shop . Apple officially announces Sept. 9 media event

It's official: Apple is planning a media event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. (Pacific). The company has sent out invitations to the press dubbed: "9.9.2014. Wish we could say more."

Almost certainly the company will announce the long-rumored iPhone 6, which is expected to be available in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions. Recent rumors have added that Apple will also unveil a smartwatch, the "iWatch," at the event.

New StuffIt Deluxe 16 lets Mac users store, share compressed...

Smith Micro Software has launched StuffIt Deluxe 16 for Mac with Cloud Services integration, a new cloud-based file transfer feature that lets users send large files without the dealing with email attachments or FTP. 

With the new release, more than 16 million StuffIt users can share photos, videos, music and more using cloud storage services, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and SendStuffNow. StuffIt Archive Manager is now more efficient with a new QuickLook search feature; streamlined navigation helps users quickly open, expand, create, verify, and schedule archiving, according to the folks at Smith Micro.

CS Odessa (www.conceptdraw.com) has announced the next generation of thier cross-platform business graphics and diagramming software: ConceptDraw PRO 10.

The new version boasts features inspired by customer feedback, such as native round-trip import and export of Visio 2013 files. Now Mac and Windows users alike can use ConceptDraw PRO 10’s features to open and edit files made with the latest version of Visio.

STM introduces the Cable Wrap cable management system

STM (www.stmbags.com) has created the US$24.99 Cable Wrap. Designed with a "dedicated space for everything," it's built to offer a way to store flash drives, chargers, cable adapters, headphones, backup batteries and other electronic device accessories.

Made with water resistant fabric, the Cable Wrap unfolds to reveal four storage panels. One end of the wrap features a large mesh pocket for securing small items such as flash drives, adapters for universal chargers, lip balm, even spare change.

Seagate ships world’s first 8TB hard drives

Seagate Technology (www.seagate.com) is shipping the world’s first 8TB hard disk drive. It delivers bulk data storage solutions for online content storage providing customers with the highest capacity density needed to address an ever increasing amount of unstructured data in an industry-standard 3.5-inch HDD, says Scott Horn, Seagate vice president of marketing.

Outfitted with enterprise-class reliability and support for archive workloads, it features multi-drive RV tolerance for consistent enterprise-class performance in high density environments, he adds. The drive also incorporates a SATA 6Gb/s interface for system integration in both private and public data centers. Seagate is shipping drives to select (think enterprise) customers now with wide scale availability next quarter. Pricing hasn't been announced.

Pocket Watch (http://www.pocketwatchllc.com) has announced availability of its US$149.95 ActivePrint Cloud Server Powered by Raspberry Pi.

With this small, standalone box almost any USB printer or available network printer will become compatible with iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. This is done by making each printer available through AirPrint, ActivePrint Cloud Print, and Google Cloud Print services simultaneously.

The ActivePrint Cloud Server is about the size of a couple of iPhones stacked together and runs on less electricity than most energy efficient lightbulbs, according to the folks at Pocket Watch.. DropShare 3.3 for the Mac can now upload files to Rackspace...

Timo Josten has given us Dropshare 3.3 for the Mac. It's now able to upload files to Rackspace Cloud Files. Also, Dropshare is now able to convert Markdown files to HTML before uploading them.

Dropshare is a menu bar app that enables you to drag and drop files, screenshots and even directories to your own server to share them. For it to work correctly, you have to have a server of your choice and a working SSH user account at your disposal.

Juno Power introduces Lightning cable made of cloth

Juno Power (www.JunoPower.com) has announced a new line of Lightning adaptor cables. The Kaebo is an Apple certified charge and sync cable.

Intuit releases redesigned Quicken 2015 for the Mac

Intuit has released Quicken 2015 for Mac (http://www.quicken.com/mac), an update of the personal finance software that sports an interface designed specifically for the Mac and new investment capabilities.

The redesigned product also syncs with a free mobile companion app providing the ability to photograph and track receipts so users can more easily stay on top of their money. Quicken 2015 for Mac 2015 links users to more than 14,500 different banks, credit cards, loan and investment accounts, allowing them to view their financial statements in one place. Other familiar features include tracking spending by category, creating budgets and the ability to schedule bills and reminders.
