“If Apple succeeds in upgrading its security — and experts say it almost surely will — the company will create a significant technical challenge for law enforcement agencies, even if the Obama administration wins its fight over access to data stored on an iPhone used by one of the killers in last year’s San Bernardino, Calif., rampage” the article says. “If the Federal Bureau of Investigation wanted to get into a phone in the future, it would need a new way to do so. That would most likely prompt a new cycle of court fights and, yet again, more technical fixes by...

BrowserHub designed to help users manage multiple web browsers...

Guilherme Rambo has launched BrowserHub 1.0, a web browser based utility developed for Mac OS X.

The app sits between links and the web browsers installed on the system, so users can create rules that determine what browser should be used depending on the context. You can create simple rules based on the URL and select a browser to open links matching those rules. Rules can be created based on protocol, host, path, file extension or app.

So, for instance, the next time you click on a link in Mail, and the link matches that particular rule, it will open on the browser defined for that kind of link. Examples of rules that could be created with BrowserHub include: "open all YouTube links in Chrome," "open video links in VLC," or "open my bank's website on Internet Explorer in Parallels." The rules are created on an interface similar to Mail's rules preferences.

BrowserHub 1.0 is being offered at a special launch sale of $9.99 and is available worldwide through...
