BatchOutput for Microsoft PowerPoint now supports Office 2016

Zevrix Solutions has announced BatchOutput PPT 2.2, a compatibility update to its output automation solution for Microsoft PowerPoint on Mac OS X.

BatchOutput PPT automates printing and exporting of PowerPoint multiple documents to PDF, and allows users to carry out professional PDF production directly from PowerPoint. EPIX offering ability to download movies to watch offline

Entertainment network EPIX has announced that it will offer subscribers the ability to download hit movies directly to their mobile devices, allowing them to watch where they want, when they want - even without access to an Internet connection.

Offline viewing will be available across Kindle Fire and all Apple and Android mobile devices and tablets including iPads, iPhones, and Samsung and Nexus devices. The new offering will be available this month to all EPIX subscribers, launching with a marketing campaign in partnership with affiliated distributors.

Apple loses leading role in mobile phone sales at physical...

Apple has lost its long-held first place in mobile phone sales at physical stores in China to domestic smartphone maker OPPO in August as consumers waited for Apple's phone launch this month, reports My Drivers, as noted by, a global investment newswire.

OPPO took a 11.6% share in terms of sales volume, compared with 9.9% in July. Apple had a 11.4% share, followed by vivo's 10.82% and Samsung's 7.9%, according to My Drivers, citing a report by Sino Market Research. My Drivers is a Chinese website that covers IT industry news and product launches.

Apple TV lottery ends; winning developers can place orders

Following last Wednesday's media event, Apple gave developers an opportunity to sign up for a lottery for an Apple TV Developer Kit. It ended today, and developers who won the lottery are now receiving invitations allowing them to purchase an Apple TV kit, reports

The first Apple TVs could be in developers' hands by the end of this week, the article adds. Developers who were selected for the lottery are required to order by Wednesday, September 16, with orders beginning to ship out one to three days after that. Apple is providing Apple TV Developer Kits to developers at no cost, with a $1 fee being charged to verify billing and shipping addresses.

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus sales off to a raging start

Apple says it's on pace to beat last year's iPhone first-weekend record. Apple shares rose in premarket trading following the announcement.

"Customer response to iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been extremely positive and preorders this weekend were very strong around the world," the company told CBNC ( in a statement. "We are on pace to beat last year's 10 million unit first-weekend record when the new iPhones go on sale September 25. As many customers noticed, the online demand for iPhone 6s Plus has been exceptionally strong and exceeded our own forecasts for the preorder period. We are working to catch up as quickly as we can, and we will have iPhone 6s Plus as well as iPhone 6s units available at Apple retail stores when they open next Friday."

Apple cuts iPhone prices in Brazil, but hikes iPad prices

Following Apple's latest product launch, the company cut iPhone prices in Brazil, reports Folha de São Paulo, a daily newspaper based in Brazil.

The iPhone 5s (16 GB) now costs BRL 2,300 (about US$597) in the country, down 8% from BRL 2,500. The price for the 32 GB version has been cut from BRL 2,900 to BRL 2,500, says Folha de São Paulo — as noted by BrightWire,.com, a global investment newswire. The iPhone 6 now costs BRL 3,200 in the 16 GB and BRL 3,500 in the 64GB version.

On the other hand, the iPad Air (16GB), which was initially sold for BRL 2,500, now costs BRL 3,500  in Brazil.

Apple to store Russian users data inside the country

Apple will store the personal data of its Russian users at a data center inside Russia to comply with a new law, reports the Kommersant newspaper — as noted by The Moscow Times (

The company has agreed to a partnership with Moscow-based data center operator IXcellerate, which already has a contract with U.S. online hotel booking service, the article says. As part of the agreement, the passport details of the individual making the reservation will be stored, as well as the number of the bank card used to make the purchase.

The deal appears to achieve the localization of the personal data of Apple's Russian users and will bring the firm in line with a Russian law obliging all companies supplying Internet services in Russia, or targeting Russian users, to store such data inside the country by Sept. 1 this year, adds The Moscow Times.
