Addison-Wesley Now Shipping New Inside Macintosh!

August 4, 1992 - Addison Wesley Publishing Company is now shipping the New Inside Macintosh, a completely revised and restructured edition of Apple’s definitive guide to developing software applications for Macintosh computers. Inside Macintosh is a series of books documenting the tools and resources incorporated into the Macintosh system software that enable programmers to develop creative and intuitive applications. The first three volumes of New Inside Macintosh are available now. They include Inside Macintosh: Files, Inside Macintosh: Memory, and Inside Macintosh: Processes.

New Inside Macintosh provides greater cohesiveness of organization and a whole new dimension to the document. Because each volume is now organized by subject, readers have all the information on a single programming topic in one book, rather than scattered throughout the original six volumes. This new organization makes it easier to find and utilitze information.

Each volume of the New Inside Macintosh comprises the following fifteen topics: Files, Memory, Processes, Overview, Macintosh Toolbox Essentials, Imaging, Text, QuickTime™, Interapplication Communication, More Macintosh Toolbox, QuickTime Components, Operating System Utilities, Networking, Communications, and Devices. The first three volumes, respectively, are shipping now. The remaining volumes will be shipping between November, 1992 and Spring, 1993.

For more information, contact Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, 617/944-3700. [The New Inside Macintosh is also available directly from MacTutor. See page 65 or the Mail Order Store (page 78-79) for more information. - Ed.]
