Apple has announced financial results for its fiscal 2013 fourth quarter that ended Sept. 28. The company posted quarterly revenue of US$37.5 billion and quarterly net profit of $7.5 billion, or $8.26 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $36 billion and net profit of $8.2 billion, or $8.67 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 37 percent compared to 40 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 60 percent of the quarter’s revenue. Apple sold 33.8 million iPhones, a record for the September quarter, compared to 26.9 million in the year-ago quarter. The company also sold 14.1 million iPads during the quarter, compared to 14 million in the year-ago quarter. IObit, which specializes in system utilities software, has launched its first utility software for Mac OS X: MacBooster.
