Tension Software announces DB-Text 1.6 for Mac OS X

Tension Software has announced DB-Text 1.6 (http://tinyurl.com/jsradvt) for Mac OS X. DB-Text is a general use tool to open and edit CSV (Comma separated value) and TSV (Tab separated value) documents on OS X.

It can open import, edit and manage text data organized by rows and columns. Data can be manipulated and exported as text (as CSV, TSV, html or custom format selecting separators and other tags) or saved inside a native DB-Text document

Jumsoft presents Infographics Set for Apple's Pages

Jumsoft has introduced Infographics for Pages 2.7, an upgrade of its design app for Pages for OS X. Adapted from one of the company’s visualization tools, Infographics for Page offers over 2,000 diagrams, maps, and other visualization elements.

Although the set is designed for Apple's Pages, the images can also be pasted in Keynote, Numbers, or iBooks Author. All images included in the Infographics set have transparent backgrounds that allow them to be placed on various colored and patterned backgrounds. Most elements are drawn in shapes, which enable resizing and changing colors as well as adding and removing various image components.

Tension Software (http://www.tensionsoftware.com) has released version 2.1.1 of Product Builder, a Mac OS X app targeted to developers. It allows users to create packages ready to be transmitted using the Application Loader (by Apple and included with the Developer tools) to the Mac App Store.

Typinator for OS X gets improved support of TextExpander snippets

Ergonis Software (www.ergonis.com) has announced Typinator 6.9, a new version of their text expander for Mac OS X.

It’s a tool for automating the process of inserting frequently used text and auto-correcting typing errors. Version 6.9 offers improved import of TextExpander snippets, an extended DOuble CAps exceptions set, support for the Sogou input methods for Chinese, and more.

Tension Software announces release 2.1 of My IP for OS X

Tension Software (www.tensionsoftware.com) has released version 2.1 of My IP for OS X.

It’s a utility app to see with which public IP address you are connected to the net (different from your IP address inside your LAN). MyIP can work also in background and can optionally show the current IP in the menu bar.

Version 2.1 now has a log included in the main window. It also offers an updated log format and bug fixes.

Apple updates its MacBook line

Apple has updated its tiny (two pounds and 13.1 mm thin) MacBook (www.apple.com/macbook) with the latest Intel processors, improved graphics performance, faster flash storage and an additional hour of battery life. Developers can now apply for tickets for WWDC 2016

Apple will hold its 27th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 13 through 17 in San Francisco. Monday’s kickoff events, including the keynote address, will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The rest of the week’s conference sessions will take place at Moscone West. 

“With four innovative operating systems [OS X, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS] and a new, intuitive programming language [Swift] powering over one billion devices worldwide, there has never been a more exciting time to bring our developer community together,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. Tension Software has updated Cronette (http://pomola.com/products_cronette/cronette.html), a Cocoa task launcher for Macs and Mac servers, to version 1.7.1.

The app lets you specify tasks to be launched automatically by the Mac. It can be used on unattended Mac Servers or also on regular Mac workstations for tasks to execute during the night or for recurring tasks to be performed on a regular basis. ATTO announces OS X driver support for FastFrame 40GbE NICs

Kronos releases OpenCL 2.2 provisional spec

The Khronos Group, an open consortium of hardware and software companies, has announced the availability of the OpenCL 2.2, SYCL 2.2 and SPIR-V 1.1 provisional specifications.

OpenCL 2.2 incorporates the OpenCL C++ kernel language for enhanced parallel programming productivity. SYCL 2.2 enables host and device code to be contained in a single source file, while leveraging the full power of OpenCL C++. SPIR-V 1.1 extends the intermediate representation defined by Khronos with native support for shader and compute kernel features to fully support the OpenCL C++ kernel language.
