Arcam MusicBOOST now available for the iPhone 6s

Product Builder for OS X gets maintenance update

Tension Software (http://www.tensionsoftware.com) has released version 2.1.1 of Product Builder, a Mac OS X app targeted to developers. It allows users to create packages ready to be transmitted using the Application Loader (by Apple and included with the Developer tools) to the Mac App Store.

Version 2.1.1 is a maintenance upgrade. Product Builder costs $2.99 and is available at the Mac App store. It requires Mac OS X 10.10 or higher.

Accountek Solutions has upgraded Connected (http://www.accountek.com), its cross platform small business accounting and ERP software for Mac OS X (10.9 and higher) and Windows, to version 8. The upgrade includes a redesigned user interface (UI), over 50 new features, compatibility with the latest Mac and PC operating systems, and integration with the latest versions of Microsoft Office.

Typinator for OS X gets improved support of TextExpander snippets

Ergonis Software (www.ergonis.com) has announced Typinator 6.9, a new version of their text expander for Mac OS X.

It’s a tool for automating the process of inserting frequently used text and auto-correcting typing errors. Version 6.9 offers improved import of TextExpander snippets, an extended DOuble CAps exceptions set, support for the Sogou input methods for Chinese, and more.

Tension Software announces release 2.1 of My IP for OS X

Tension Software (www.tensionsoftware.com) has released version 2.1 of My IP for OS X.

It’s a utility app to see with which public IP address you are connected to the net (different from your IP address inside your LAN). MyIP can work also in background and can optionally show the current IP in the menu bar.

Version 2.1 now has a log included in the main window. It also offers an updated log format and bug fixes.

Upspace for OS X revved to version 1.0.1

Upspace (http://hello.upspace.co) has announced Upspace 1.0.1 for OS X. It’s an update to their menubar uploader for Dropbox. Using the Dropbox infrastructure, it was built specifically for those who need to share a lot of screenshots and files during the day.

Apple updates its MacBook line

Apple has updated its tiny (two pounds and 13.1 mm thin) MacBook (www.apple.com/macbook) with the latest Intel processors, improved graphics performance, faster flash storage and an additional hour of battery life. Plus, its all-metal unibody enclosure is now available in four aluminum finishes — gold, silver, space gray, and for, the first time on a Mac, rose gold.

Developers can now apply for tickets for WWDC 2016

Apple will hold its 27th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 13 through 17 in San Francisco. Monday’s kickoff events, including the keynote address, will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The rest of the week’s conference sessions will take place at Moscone West. 

“With four innovative operating systems [OS X, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS] and a new, intuitive programming language [Swift] powering over one billion devices worldwide, there has never been a more exciting time to bring our developer community together,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. We can’t wait for everyone to join us — in San Francisco or through the live stream.”

Tension Software has updated Cronette (http://pomola.com/products_cronette/cronette.html), a Cocoa task launcher for Macs and Mac servers, to version 1.7.1.

The app lets you specify tasks to be launched automatically by the Mac. It can be used on unattended Mac Servers or also on regular Mac workstations for tasks to execute during the night or for recurring tasks to be performed on a regular basis. ATTO announces OS X driver support for FastFrame 40GbE NICs

Kronos releases OpenCL 2.2 provisional spec

The Khronos Group, an open consortium of hardware and software companies, has announced the availability of the OpenCL 2.2, SYCL 2.2 and SPIR-V 1.1 provisional specifications.

OpenCL 2.2 incorporates the OpenCL C++ kernel language for enhanced parallel programming productivity. SYCL 2.2 enables host and device code to be contained in a single source file, while leveraging the full power of OpenCL C++. SPIR-V 1.1 extends the intermediate representation defined by Khronos with native support for shader and compute kernel features to fully support the OpenCL C++ kernel language.

Excel releases QLRT Xcode 3.0

Excel Software (www.excelsoftware.com) has announced QLRT Xcode 3.0 for Objective-C and Swift developers creating Mac OS X software.  

QLRT Xcode is a static library containing the QuickLicense runtime software for protection, activation and license management. Xcode programmers can protect their software from piracy and increase revenue by supporting a variety of license types, activation methods and advanced licensing features.

QLRT Xcode is used in conjunction with QuickLicense. The developer configures all aspects of the software license with QuickLicense and outputs a Ticket file.  That Ticket file is bound to an application when the QLRT library is dropped into the Xcode project and called with a function in the source code.
